Here is the letter that was received ....

Dear M,
Thanks for sending Flat Stanley to me, he and I had a great time.  He has really enjoyed Houston.   He came with me to the Galleria, which is a really big mall with a skating rink in the middle. Stanley and I watched the ice skaters and then we had lunch at Katz's Deli.  We had the famous fried pickles (yum!!) and took this picture (above) in the photo booth.  We picked out this sweatshirt and treats for you, hope you like it.   I can't wait to see you at Christmas!!! Love, Auntie

The Project begins ...

We finished reading Flat Stanley by: Jeff Brown last week and students are beginning to write the their Flat Stanley letters and make their own Flat Stanleys.

A Sample Letter ...

Dear Grandma,

We just read Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. This story is about a boy named Stanley who had a bulletin board fall on him. The bulletin board made him flat. Stanley learns to like being flat. He travels across the country in an envelope to visit his friend. He also stops the sneak thieves from stealing the most valuable painting at the museum and he gets to be a kite, but he gets tangled in a tree. His brother, Arthur has an idea to make him normal again and blows up Stanley up with a bicycle pump.

Please keep my Flat Stanley for a week or more and then send him back with a letter etc. about his adventure ....
